The MV-22B is a multi-mission tilt-rotor aircraft (VSTOL) designed to meet the combat needs of multiple branches of the military. The prototype, the MV-22B, replaced the Marine Corps' attack helicopters in the medium transport category (CH-46E and CH-53D), contributing to the dominant maneuverability of Marine amphibious forces and supporting targeted logistics in the days following the commencement of amphibious operations. The MV-22B is currently in service with the U.S. Marine Corps (MV-22B), U.S. Navy (CMV-22B), U.S. Air Force (CV-22B), and Japan Air Self-Defense Force (MV-22B). Israel, India, and Indonesia have considered acquiring this aircraft for their military operations. All MV-22B variants have slightly different fuel tank capacities and configurations, but the aircraft's design and systems remain unchanged.
